The western Costa del Sol calls itself the Costa del Golf, and from the apartment you are in the middle of it: a nine-hole course two kilometres away, three friendly 18-hole courses within ten minutes, and within half an hour two of the most famous courses in Europe, Finca Cortesín, which hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup, and Real Club Valderrama, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup. With more than 70 courses along the coast you could play a different one every day of a fortnight, and the mild winter means the season never really stops.

The courses
Casares Costa Golf (9 holes, 2 km)
The course right next to the residence, a par-34 nine-holer on the coast side of the A-7. Individual green fees from about €25; ideal for a quick evening round or for beginners.
Doña Julia Golf (18 holes, 5 km)
Up the hill above Casares Costa, a full 18 holes with sea views from most tees. Green fees roughly €52–76 depending on season and where you book; one of the best-value 18-hole rounds on the coast.
La Duquesa Golf & Country Club (18 holes, 6 km)
A mature Robert Trent Jones Sr. design behind Manilva, with a clubhouse hotel and restaurant. Green fees from about €41–50.
Finca Cortesín (18 holes, 6 km)
The five-star resort course on the road to Casares village: immaculate conditioning, a Cabell Robinson layout and the venue of the 2023 Solheim Cup. Green fees around €375, rising to about €460 in high season; caddies and buggies with GPS. Book well ahead; a golf dress code applies.
Real Club Valderrama (18 holes, about 20 km)
Robert Trent Jones's masterpiece in Sotogrande, the first course outside the British Isles and the USA to host the Ryder Cup (1997) and a regular venue for professional tournaments since. Visitors are accepted Monday to Thursday at €600 for 2026, with very limited availability in summer; a handicap certificate is required.
Sotogrande and Alcaidesa
Sotogrande also has the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, La Reserva and Almenara (15–20 minutes). Alcaidesa Links, 25 minutes towards Gibraltar, is the coast's only true links, with views of the Rock and Africa.
Estepona and Valle Romano
Estepona Golf and Valle Romano, 15–20 minutes east, are solid mid-priced 18-hole courses; Valle Romano has hosted Challenge Tour events.
