Privacy policy and legal notice
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This website, beachfront-casares.com, presents a holiday apartment in Casares Costa (Málaga, Spain) that is rented to guests. We process as little personal data as possible: the site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools; only the Google Maps map, if you accept it, may set cookies. This page explains what data is processed when you visit the site or contact us, on what legal basis, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish law.

Visiting the website
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, your browser automatically transmits technical data: your IP address, the page requested, date and time, browser type and the referring page. Netlify processes this data on our behalf to deliver the pages, keep the service secure and detect abuse; it is kept in server logs for a limited time and is not combined with other data.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where data is transferred to the USA, this is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.
Enquiries and bookings
When you contact us by e-mail, phone or Facebook Messenger, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, requested dates, number of guests and the content of your message) in order to answer you and prepare a booking. If you book with us directly, we also process the data needed to carry out the booking and to issue invoices.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract and performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Spanish law requires tourist accommodation to register the identity data of guests with the authorities (Royal Decree 933/2021); this data is kept for three years. Accounting records are kept for the period required by tax law (generally four to six years). Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after one year at the latest.
Bookings through Booking.com
If you book through Booking.com, the booking is handled by Booking.com B.V., Oosterdokskade 163, 1011 DL Amsterdam, Netherlands, under its own privacy policy (booking.com/privacy). Booking.com sends us the data needed to host you: name, contact details, dates of stay and the number of guests. We use this data only to prepare your stay and to comply with the legal obligations described above.
Google Maps
The map on the Location page is loaded from Google Maps only with your consent: either by accepting it in the cookie bar shown on your first visit, or by clicking “Show map”. At that moment your browser connects to Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and transmits your IP address; Google may process this data, including in the USA, and may store cookies within the map according to its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, after which the map is shown again only on request. If you prefer not to load the map, use the “Open in Google Maps” link instead, which takes you to Google’s website.
Links to Booking.com, Facebook and Instagram
The Booking.com, Facebook and Instagram buttons are ordinary links. No data is sent to these services until you click one of them and leave our website. From that point on, the privacy policy of the respective service applies.
Cookies and local storage
This website itself sets no cookies. It stores three technical settings in your browser’s local storage: the language you selected, whether you closed the language suggestion bar, and your decision about Google Maps. These settings are needed to display the site as you configured it, contain no personal data and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Cookies may be set by Google only inside the map, and only after you have accepted it (see “Google Maps” above).
We do not use web analytics, advertising networks or social media plug-ins. Should this change, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
To exercise these rights, write to the e-mail address given above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Spanish Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es) or the authority of the country in which you live.
